Webcam Modeling Equipment
As a webcam model you'll need the right equipment, but you won't have to break the bank to begin your online career! We've listed the minimum requirements to get you started; if you don't already have a webcam, our suggestions below have proven to be both reliable and able to provide clear and viewable video for webcam models.
Computer
A PC or notebook, with at least a 400 Mhz processor and 256 Mb of RAM.
Camera
A standard USB webcam. (We recommend using any of the Logitech Quick Cam Pro or 9000 Series cams.)
(Recommended)
Most models and customers prefer camcorders because they stream much faster and offer higher quality video, often with remote control and 'zoom' functionality. If choosing a camcorder set up, you'll need a capture card, capture cord or a MiniDV camcorder with streaming capabilities and Firewire.
Note: Some video cameras are not designed to be used as webcams and will often go into 'sleep' mode or shutdown if they think that there not being used. If you choose to purchase a camcorder, we recommend that you ask your agency or network which specific models they recommend before you buy.
Microphone
USB or 'built-in' microphone. (Many of the recommended Logitech cameras come with 'built-in' microphones.)
Internet Connection

Lighting
Quality lighting can be just as important as the quality of the video; customers are much less likely to pay to for a show if they cannot see you clearly. Halogen lights placed in front of you and behind the camera will allow your camera to focus on you more clearly and, if positioned correctly, can also make your skin look flawless.
